EQUIPMENT USE POLICY

  1. Reservations for equipment may be made in person at the LRC Informations Services Desk located in 3410 Haley Center or by calling 844-4420 during regular office hours of 7:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.


  2. All equipment requests are made on a first come, first serve basis and must be made at least one business day in advance. The advance notice is necessary so the LRC can plan for and schedule equipment needs.


  3. Laptop computers and/or computer projectors are available for use by College of Education only. Faculty must reserve this type of equipment at least 1 business day in advance. College of Education Students who want to use a computer and/or computer projector for classroom presentation mut complete a Student Equipment Request Form (see #9 below).


  4. A standing order (i.e., quarter-long requests) for equipment will only be scheduled after the fifth (5th) day of class. If the LRC determines that a standing order equipment request is not used for three consecutive times, the standing order is automatically canceled with notice sent to the faculty/department.


  5. Delivery of equipment by LRC personnel will only be scheduled based on the number of personnel available to provide such service. Faculty with documented physlical limitations or challenges will receive priority for equipment delivery.


  6. When one picks up (checks out) equipment from the LRC, that person signs for the responsibility of the equipment and for its safe return immediately after use unless prior arrangements to guarantee the security of this equipment are made with LRC staff.


  7. Persons signing for (checking out) equipment from the LRC are responsible for (1) replacement cost if the equipment is lost or stolen and (2) cost of equipment repair if damaged through negligence.


  8. The LRC reserves the right to reschedule equipment for another patron when equipment is not picked up by the requestor within 30 minutes of the scheduled time of the request unless prior arrangements have been made with the LRC staff.


  9. Only students enrolled in courses taught in the College of Education or College of Liberal Arts may use equipment. To check out equipment, the student must complete a Student Equipment Request Form and have the form signed by a faculty member in the College of Education or Liberal Arts, whichever is appropriate. This form must be completed at least 1 business day in advance.


  10. Exceptions to this policy must be authorized by the Coordinator, LRC Services.
