Dr. Frances Kochan is a Professor in Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology in the College of Education at Auburn University. She holds a PhD. in Educational Foundations and Policy Studies with a focus in Adult Education and Organizational Development from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. She also holds a certificate in Human Resource Development and Program Evaluation from the same institution. She earned a Master's Degree in Reading Education from the University of Guam, and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and English from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Dr. Kochan has had extensive experience in program development and evaluation, staff development and training, performance assessment and evaluation, curriculum and instruction, and management and administration. She has served as Project Director for numerous curriculum and administrator and teacher training programs, as school principal and district level administrator, and as Superintendent of the Florida State University School.

She has written articles on collaboration and leadership and has published books and articles on mentoring and organizational change. Her major research interests are collaboration, leadership, and mentoring.
