LAWS

It is our policy to provide accessible programs, services and activities and reasonable accommodations for any student with a documented disability as defined by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and by the Americans with Disabilities act of 1990. Program staff work to ensure that students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to pursue an education.

SECTION 504 OF THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973
"No otherwise qualified handicapped individual in the United States...shall, solely by reason of his handicap, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT OF 1990
The ADA extends civil rights protection for people with disabilities to employment in the private sector, transportation, public accommodations, services provided by state and local government, and telecommunication relay services.
