Don't miss the first Science Supper of 2021: “Understanding materials atom-by-atom”

COSAM's Office of Outreach invites you to the first virtual Science Supper of 2021!

Join us and Dr. Marcelo Kuroda from Auburn's Department of Physics to learn about "Understanding materials atom-by-atom."

Why is my computer so slow? Why is my cellphone battery already drained? Knowledge of the physical properties of materials with atomic precision has contributed to pushing boundaries in technology. In turn, technological progress has further enabled us to control and manipulate those properties.

In this talk, Dr. Kuroda will highlight how the understanding of materials has played key roles in the advancement of technology. The research group's exploratory efforts to characterize and tweak materials for a variety of applications using state-of-the-art computations will also be discussed. This is a virtual talk.
