Prior to TPH, Gibson served in executive positions at Tervita Corporation, Paradigm Geophysical and Landmark Graphics Corporation, and Halliburton Company’s Energy Services Group. He also is the former head of subsurface research at Chevron Corporation.

Gibson currently serves as Director of Orocobre Limited and Bulware Inc., and is a member of the University of Houston’s Energy Advisory Board, the University of Texas at Austin’s Bureau of Economic Geology Visiting Committee, and the National Board of KickStart for Kids.
