Becca Folmar is a proud Auburn alumae and the office supervisor for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Find out more about Becca, her favorite place on campus and more.

Q: What year did you start at COSAM?
A: In 2017.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A:  I work with great people! I love building relationships and connecting with others.

Q: What is the best advice you have ever received at COSAM and from whom?
A:  Whenever I need a few minutes of tranquility, I go to LaToya Stuart’s office, but Dr. Shannon always encourages pushing yourself to learn new things.

Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Clayton, Alabama.

Q: What three words best describe you?
A:  Independent, honest (too honest at times), and deep thinker.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A:  Spending time with my family (husband and three children), friends, yoga, and reading any kind of self-improvement book.

Q: What is the one thing you do when no one is around?
A: Meditate.

Q: What is your favorite place on campus?
A:  It is hard to pick just one! I love the energy of the entire campus but there is something special about sitting in front of Samford Hall especially when there is a fall breeze.

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Cheeseburgers! The messier the better.

Q: What is your dream travel destination?
A:  Thailand.

Q: What is your most memorable experience at COSAM?
A:  The moment I was hired, knowing I had been chosen to make a positive difference in the department and help the students.

Q: If you could trade places with anyone at COSAM for just one day, who would it be and why?
A:  I would trade places with Stephanie Woodley so I could see all views of the different departments and how they come together to make COSAM.
