“The Plainsmen’s Prep Program helped me test into a higher math level saving me both time and the cost of tuition,” shared Madison Hogans. She participated in the Plainsmen’s Prep Program last year and is currently majoring in biomedical sciences in the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM).

“Another great benefit of the program is the fact that I could move-in early,” she shared. “I was able to find everything before classes started and learned my way around this big university.”

The Plainsmen’s Prep Program provides students with hands-on support in mathematics and allows students to re-test to achieve a higher math course placement. It takes place from August 4 – 13, 2019 on campus. The deadline to register is Friday, July 19, 2019.

COSAM Senior Lecturer Jennifer Stone shares the importance of self-motivation and what students should expect from being part of this program.

To be eligible for Plainsmen’s Prep, you must score below the required math course placement for your anticipated major:

  • Less than a 26 on the Math ACT or under a 620 on the Math SAT for majors requiring Calculus I (MATH 1610)
  • Less than a 25 on the Math ACT or under a 600 on the Math SAT for majors requiring Calculus with Business Applications I (MATH 1680)

The Plainsmen’s Prep Program is made possible by the Office of Academic Support.
