Brittany Gamble named PASS Mentor of the Year

Published: 05/05/2015

On May 1st, the Promoting Academic Success for Students (PASS) Mentoring Program held its 5th Annual Recognition Luncheon. The luncheon focused on “Mentorship Matters.” Mentors and mentees dropped –in to be recognized for a great 2014-15 year. Awards were distributed to each participant in the program. The Mentor of the Year Award was awarded to an outstanding mentor. To receive the award, a student being mentored had to submit a nomination form detailing the reasons why their mentor should be chosen. This year’s winner is Brittany Gamble. She was nominated by here mentee, Victoria Roberson. Ms. Roberson stated:

My mentor and I have been to many church services and activities together. She has been very beneficial in helping me find a church like the one I have back home. We have also eaten at almost every place on campus and downtown which was one of my goals for the year. My favorite activity was when we went to laser tag.

My mentorship has helped me grow emotionally and gain confidence that I lacked before coming to Auburn. My mentor inspires me to step outside of my comfort zone and allow others to get to know me. She has shown me that I am stronger than I think and can handle all challenges that life throws at me. I’m so thankful for all the information she has given me about the campus.

Congratulation Brittany Gamble for being selected Mentor of the Year 2014-15. We would like to thank our 55 participants in the 2014-15 program. Thank you Victoria Roberson for nominating your mentor for Mentor of Year. For additional information on the PASS Mentoring Program, visit the PASS Website.
