- behavioral observation and analysis
- behavioral ecology
- reproductive biology
- physiological ecology
- anatomy (general and neuro)
- endocrinology (reproductive and neuro)
- animal surgery
- histology
- immunocytochemistry
- radioimmunoassay
General help with your project (discussion on planning, execution, and statistical analyses)
Some background info. on how science works (politics)
Interaction
Introductions to helpful people
Advice on giving professional talks and on writing publications and grants

What I expect:

Commitment to do a project well and honestly
Much work (sometimes beyond the call of duty)
Taking proper and humane care of research animals (maintenance, handling, surgery, and sacrifice)
Independent background reading and thinking (e.g. I will not hold your hand!)
Scheduled communication (if there's a problem, let's discuss it before it gets worse)
Patience (I want to help, but I have commitments too - let's have scheduled sessions for advice, bullshitting, etc.
Sometimes you'll have to help out with general lab projects
You to write a grant and try to get independent funding
You to give a talk(s) at national meetings
You to write a publication(s)
