The Auburn University Cellular and Molecular Biosciences (AU-CMB) announces its Summer Research Scholarship program to provide talented AU undergraduate students an opportunity to conduct research during the summer semester with a CMB faculty member. 

Center for Disease Control (CDC)  provides links to intern and research opportunities sponsored by CDC, various locations 

The Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch  sponsored by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, located in Galveston, T X. 

American Society of Plant Biologist sponsors a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship to encourage students to pursue careers or advanced degrees in plant biology, located in Washington, D.C. 

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center provides summer opportunities to participate in summer research in the areas of twelve week period as part of a research team after selecting an areas  cellular biology, developmental biology, genetics, membrane biology,  molecular biology, molecular immunology, structural biology, oncogenes, or virology 

University of Pittsburgh/Carnegie Mellon M.D./Ph.D. Program sponsors a 10-week Summer Minority Program at the University of Pittsburgh. 

Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History  provides a ten-week summer research and study curriculum exclusively for undergraduate students.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute offers summer research experiences to undergraduates who are interested in pursuing future careers in scientific research, specifically, cancer research.

The College Fund/UNCF and The Merck Company Foundation.  This program is designed to increase the number of African Americans in the pipeline of biomedical science education and research.

Tufts University's Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences Is offering a summer research program in biomedical science for minority undergraduate students. Research opportunities for eligible applicants are available each summer in the fields of biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, pathogenesis, physiology, public health, and virology.

Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons, MD or Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge, MD, both part of the University of Maryland Center for environmental Science is offering summer fellowship program for undergraduates to conduct research in estuarine science on the Chesapeake Bay.


Mote Marine Laboratory's (MML) just announced 2009 Research Experiences for undergraduates (REU) Internship Program.  MML serves as a center for research, scientific collaboration, and public education focused on our marine environment.

Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University offers an 8 week program (June 12-August 4) providing research opportunities in biology/zoology, microbiology, pathobiology, fisheries, chemistry and biogeochemistry, marine geology, physical oceanography, and atmospheric/coastal data, and will illustrate the usefulness of scientific research for understanding real-world problems.

National Science Foundation:  Research Experiences for Undergraduates.

Supported by a grant from the national Science Foundation's Division of Ocean Sciences, this REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program awards ten science, engineering, and mathematics undergraduates summer internships to conduct guided research in marine science.

Summer Biomedical Sciences (SIBS) Undergraduate Research Program at UAB, is sponsoring an eight week program in which selected undergraduate students will conduct laboratory research under the guidance of individual UAB faculty members. 

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory High-Energy-Density Physics Program-the Weapons and complex Integration (WCI) directorate has opportunities for student interns to conduct research in the fields of nuclear physics, radiation transport, hydrodynamics, astrophysics, computation and are geared to further the students' educational goals.
