Assistant Professor in Microbiology

The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in microbiology beginning Fall 2012. The successful candidate is expected to establish an internationally recognized research program in an area of microbiology, and engage in the training of graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will also have teaching responsibilities in the microbiology program and will participate in teaching general microbiology.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and at least two years of postdoctoral experience in microbiology. Desired qualifications include a strong record of publication, teaching experience, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin, continue working legally for the proposed term of employment, and be able to communicate effectively in English.
