Assistant Research Professor of Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position in Biological Sciences beginning 1 February 2015. The position is a one-year appointment and is subject to annual renewal based on performance and funding.  The applicant will have the opportunity to provide additional salary support from external funds. The successful candidate should be trained in terrestrial ecology and longleaf pine ecosystem restoration with specific research interests in reptile and amphibian biology, ecology, and conservation with a particular emphasis on indigo snake recovery.  Teaching responsibilities may include instruction in undergraduate ecology and/or a graduate course in the area of specialization.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a doctorate in a related field and demonstrable teaching experience.  Desired qualifications include a strong record of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.  The candidate selected for the position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is to begin, and continue working legally for the proposed term of appointment.   In support of our strategic plan, Auburn University will maintain its strong commitment to diversity with standards to help ensure faculty, staff and student diversity through recruitment and retention efforts.
