The Kinesiology program prepares individuals for careers in teaching, research, and services related to physical activity and fitness, health promotion, and sports medicine in a variety of settings including schools, college and universities, public and private agencies, clinical environments, government, business, and the military. The program includes course work related to physical activity in its many forms, including exercise for improvement of health and physical fitness, activities of daily living, work, sport, dance, and play in a variety of groups, including special populations such children; persons with disability, injury or disease; and athletes.
Accreditation and Distinctions
Auburn University holds regional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The National Academy of Kinesiology (NAK) listed Auburn University’s doctoral program in Kinesiology as 22nd in its 2010 rankings.
