The Geography Education program prepares geography teachers for grades 6-12. Coursework in the social sciences and geography provides the knowledge teachers need to teach geography courses at the secondary school level. Coursework in professional education provides the theory-based knowledge, the pedagogical knowledge and skills, and the clinical experiences in schools that prospective teachers need to become competent, committed, and reflective professionals.
