The program requires that students complete practica in the areas of advanced counseling, teaching and supervision. Students also complete an internship that incorporates programmatic and student professional goals. Program requirements include dissertation and portfolio (comprehensive exam) and oral defense of the portfolio. It is required that applicants have a Master's degree in counseling (preference CACREP programs) or closely related field. Students with masters degrees not in counseling will be required to complete remedial coursework to meet this requirement.
