The Military Child Education Coalition, a nonprofit organization focusing on the needs of children in military families, will provide a training session for local and regional educators and community members. The two-day seminar, "Supporting Children of the National Guard and Reserve Institute," will be held at the Lexington Hotel and University Convention Center at 1577 S. College St. in Auburn.
The seminar will provide information about the U.S. Military Reserve component, discussion of the effects of mobilization and deployment separation on the children of reserve service members, identify community and military resources that support military-connected children, and prepare an action plan model that encourages the resilience of military-connected children in the community.
There is no cost to participants. The event is funded by the Office of the Secretary of Defense/Department of the Army.
