EARIC Current Workshops
Below you will find descriptions of current workshops available for registration.

Registration for all workshops sponsored by the In-Service Center must be done through STI-PD (unless otherwise noted below in the session announcement).

Follow the steps below to register for a session.

 1.       Once you log into STI-PD (https://pdweb.alsde.edu), click the PD Title tab.
 2.
       Enter the PD Title Number listed after the session title below in the PD Title Number box and click SEARCH.
 3.
       Scroll down until you see the title of the workshop for which you wish to register.
 4.
       Click the LIST link on the right.
 5.
       Scroll down again to the correct session/date and click on the ENROLL button.

If you have access to STI-PD but are having trouble logging on:  You must contact the PD Coordinator for your school system.  For more detailed instructions for STI-PD, please CLICK HERE.

Aconfirmation will be forwarded from STI-PD only if your profile is updated with your current email address.  You will be contacted by the In-Service Center only if a workshop for which you have registered is cancelled or rescheduled.

If, for any reason, you do not have access to STI-PD:
Please call the Inservice Center at (334) 844-5028 for information on how to enroll for a session.

Technology Topics for 21st Century Administrators

DescriptionTechnology Topics for 21st Century Administrators is a hybrid professional learning group that provides both face-to-face and online content that supports educational leadership in our students’ technological world. School leaders review best practices, cutting edge technology, and develop technology skills and strategies to better support their teachers and improve student achievement. Administrators work together to better use technology to improve personal productivity and model the professional use of technology. Participants discuss ideas and strategies with other leaders in the group and apply them to their own practice.

Objectives
1. Knowledge to discover practical approaches for developing and implementing successful technology planning.
2. Knowledge to increase access to educational technologies for the school.

 

Additional Information: This is a PLU and the participants must attend 4 of the 6 day workshop. Participation is free to educators in the AU Region 9 area.

Educational Leadership in the 21st Century

STI-PD Title Number:  PLUACLD160

DescriptionEducational Leadership in the 21st Century is a hybrid professional learning study that provides both face-to-face and interactive e-learning to support exploration and discussion of school leadership in our students' technological 21st century world. School leaders review best practices, examine leadership behaviors and develop strategies to better support their teachers. Administrators work together to better use technology to support teachers and improve student achievement. Participants discuss ideas and strategies with other leaders in the course and apply them to their own practice. Extension activities provide opportunities to explore more in-depth topics of interest.This is an introductory course for school administrators, teachers, technology specialists, curriculum specialists, professional development specialists or other school personnel holding administrative certification to help them focus on promoting, supporting, and implementing effective technology integration.

Objectives: Participants will...
· Develop a plan for personal growth usingtechnology
· Create a strategic plan for fostering a learning environment that leverages technology to help develop students' 21st century skills 
· Practice using online technology tools (Google docs, Survey Monkey, etc) to analyze, disaggregate and use student data
· Create online tools (spreadsheet, form or survey) for teachers to use to monitor progress of student learning goals
· Develop a parent/stakeholder survey to determinethe degree of equitable access to technology in homes and public places in the community
· Analyze student data to determine the amount and type of professional development needed for the following school year
