Next year, 2015, marks the 100-year anniversary of the College of Education. To commemorate the College’s centennial, we are busy working on a Centennial book. This book not only chronicles and celebrates the first 100 years of the College, but also looks ahead to the next 100 years. The book is currently in production and will be printed and distributed in 2015.
More than 50 alumni, faculty members, administrators and staff members have contributed stories of their time in the College. They have also contributed their photos. Alumni contributors include Wayne T. Smith, the CEO of Community Health Systems, and Susan Dryden Whitson, press secretary to First Lady Laura Bush. Faculty contributors include Jane Moore, Terry Ley, Mark Fischman and Mary Rudisill.
In addition, we’ve scoured the library archives and issues of the Glomerata to showcase the people of the College. The book covers all the College’s departments and includes an illustrated time line of important events in the College’s history.
We think you will be happy with the results, and we will post updates as the Centennial book project moves along.
