AuburnVoices
Auburn University's College of Education has a commitment to diversity - providing support and empathy for groups that historically have been discriminated against, excluded or marginalized in our schools and in our society. Auburn encourages faculty, students and organizations to take an active role in advocating for these groups. The College offers innovative ways - locally and regionally - for faculty, educators, and students to engage in a variety of activities to promote social justice, advocacy, training and learning, and experiential education.
Reading at Notasulga. Students from Iota Delta Sigma, in conjunction with the College of Education National Advisory Council, established a Reading Room at Notasulga.
SPRING 2012: The Great Literacy Read-In Project!

Where others may have a sit-in, we will be having a “Read-In”
to focus on reading and literacy development
During the Spring of 2012 AuburnVoices will be collaborating with students, faculty and student organizations within the College of Education to promote literacy development among K-6 grade students at identified at-risk schools in Lee and Macon County.
This initiative serves to help these students, teachers and schools while also engaging Auburn University College of Education students in the development of advocacy, literacy promotion and leadership skills. It is our goal that these activities will focus on developing a foundation of literacy support, development and engagement that will exist after the activities of this semester.
On this site you can find ways to donate books: Adopt a Book, donate to and sponsor a K-6 classroom (Adopt a Classroom) or volunteer for one of the many Read-In Activities .
