Military Appreciation Weekend

Congratulations to Stasia Burroughs – the Clinical Coordinator of the Warrior Athletic Training Program and graduate of the inaugural WAT class for winning yet another award!

Stasia won the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Masters’ Student Research Oral Presentation Award in June.  Now she has been selected by the NATA and the NATA Foundation as our Joint Commission on Sports Medicine and Science (JCSMS) Graduate Student Fellow Second Runner-Up, receiving a cash award of $500 for this well-deserved honor.

The Joint Commission is a group of 35+ organizations that serves as a catalyst for cooperative ventures between groups. Leadership from each member organization meets annually to share their projects, learn what others are doing and to debate issues that will impact the future of the sports medicine profession. The NATA is a member of the Joint Commission, along with other groups such as the AMA, AOSSM, President’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports, Special Olympics International and the USOC (just to name a few).
