Congratulations to the faculty and students from Kinesiology who received awards for their outstanding accomplishments this year.

Arrow Physical Education alum, Mr. Robert Kenneth Johns is recognized as the 2010 College of Education Keystone Leader. Click here to read more about the award and Mr. Johns' accomplishments.

Arrow Dr. John Quindry earned tenure and the rank of associate professor for 2011. Dr. Quindry was also inducted into the College of Applied Science and Technology’s Academy of Achievement at Illinois State University.

Arrow Kinesiology Faculty receive grants from AU Vice President of Research. Dr. Wendi Weimar received a $75,000 Equipment Grant from AU Vice President of Research. Drs. John Quindry, Bruce Gladden and Peter Hastie received grants to support pilot research.

Arrow Kinesiology Doctoral Candidate, Mary Sandage, awarded NIH Fellowship.

Arrow 2011 AKA Scholar Awards are awarded to Mary Sandage, Doctoral; Jared Rehm, Masters; Meredith Bailey, Undergraduate; Gordon Fisher, Writing Award.

Arrow Lindsey Schreiber Miller (graduate-doctoral candidate, Exercise Physiology) received the 2011 G. Dennis Wilson Graduate Student Scholarship.

Arrow Sun Yi (international-doctoral candidate, Exercise Physiology) received the 2011 Department of Kinesiology and College of Education’s Outstanding International Student Award.

Arrow Kenneth Games (graduate-doctoral student, Neuromechanics) received the 2010-2011 AU Top Ten Outstanding Masters Student Award.

Arrow Samuel Logan (graduate-doctoral student, Motor Development) received the 2011 Alma Holladay Fund for Excellence.

Arrow Khalil Lee and Asherah Blount (entering graduate-doctoral students) received the 2010-2011 Presidential Graduate Opportunities Program Award.

Arrow Stasia Burroughs (graduate-master's, Athletic Training - Research) received the Alabama 2011 Athletic Trainers’ Association scholarship award.
