  • Important Note: Since this is a PmWiki and we would be doing work for a WikiMedia site, there are some 'formatting' issues we would have to deal with if we did the work here. So, I suggest we use this wiki for other documentation and do the actual class project over in either MarcomWiki or AuburnMediaWiki. They are both MediaWiki installations. MediaWiki is the wiki engine that powers all WikiMedia projects/sites. I know. It is a bit confusing.

Sj at Wikipedia tipped me off to a possible projct for class re: the use of this wiki.

Visit the Wikipedia:School and university projects page at Wikipedia. I think this has promise.

First, there is a Suggested exercises section which we may consider. Most of those seem better suited to the PR Style & Design class.

Regardless of what we may do, it will be important to learn from the successes and failures of previous school efforts. For example, read the Talk Section of the Customer experience management exercise created by a class at Bad Mergentheim Business School in Germany.

Here is the first edit to the new wiki. This site is associated with the Auburn PR Blog.

Luckily, pmWiki 'will' run on the university servers.

This makes me 'very' happy. I hope to give every faculty member their very own wiki, if they want one.

Wikipedia University Projects

Sj at Wikipedia tipped me off to a possible projct for class re: the use of this wiki.

Visit the Wikipedia:School and university projects page at Wikipedia. I think this has promise.

First, there is a Suggested exercises section which we may consider. Most of those seem better suited to the PR Style & Design class.

Second, for the Intro to PR class, how about a class wide effort (one paper each) which will try to add to the history of the growth of Marketing Communications over the past decade. And, if we come up with usable pages, then see about transferring them to Wikipedia.

Regardless of what we may do, it will be important to learn from the successes and failures of previous school efforts. For example, read the Talk Section of the Customer experience management exercise created by a class at Bad Mergentheim Business School in Germany.
