What is the most important

or useful issue you have learned

in archival studies?

MARK: Adherence to the principals of provenance and original order. And Dr. Jakeman's rule of "reversiblity": don't do something to a record unless you can undo it.

JEFF: Hard to say.
Perhaps I am more sensitive to the difficulties in appraising and acquiring collections in an environment of fiscal constraints and understaffing. I also have learned a considerable amount about the evolution of records and archival practices.
