MISSED FINALS

 

Lab finals will be given the last week of labs (April 19-22) in your regularly scheduled lab room at your regularly scheduled lab time!

 

Here are the rules about what to do if you miss or will miss your scheduled lab final time – if you don’t follow these rules your will get a ZERO with no chance to make up your lab final!!!

A.  If you know in advance that you will miss your scheduled lab…

  1. you must have a legitimate, documented excuse to be allowed to take a makeup; clear it with me ahead of time to be sure
  2. email me (bowlisa@auburn.edu) before your normally scheduled lab final time and let me know that you will be missing your normal final time
  3. go to another lab section and take your test (see the syllabus on the lab website for section times) – let me know in your email which section you will go to
  4. turn in your excuse documentation to 210 SCL no later than noon on Monday, April 25th (attach an excuse form from the window at 210 SCL)

 

B.  If you get sick or have some other emergency…

  1. you must have a legitimate, documented excuse to be allowed to take a makeup
  2. email me (bowlisa@auburn.edu) as soon as possible but no later than 5pm on Sunday, April 24th
  3. if you can’t get to email in time, call 844-7150 and leave a message, then email me as soon as you can
  4. go to another lab section and take your test (see the syllabus on the lab website for section times) – let me know in your email which section you will go to
  5. if you won’t be able to go to another section let me know in your email (you will need a legitimate excuse for ALL sections from your emergency on in that case) and watch for a class email from me with instructions for makeups
  6. turn in your excuse documentation to 210 SCL no later than noon on Monday, April 25th (attach an excuse form from the window at 210 SCL)

 

Even if you go to another section to take a makeup, be sure to EMAIL ME and let me know what you have done, because if you don’t you will get a zero EVEN IF you take the practical with another section.  You will also need to make sure that you turn your excuse in.

 

Your excuse needs to be turned in to 210 SCL (near the lab rooms) following the normal lab excuse procedures as detailed in your lab syllabus, except the deadline for turning in excuses is moved up to noon on Monday, April 25th.  NO EXCUSE means you will get a ZERO for the lab final, which is 7.5% of your final grade for Biol 1030.

 

Those who don’t take the lab final during the last week of labs AND who submit a legitimate, documented excuse following the rules and deadlines will need to pay close attention to their emails for information from Dr. Bowling about their makeup lab final.
