Term Paper for Graduate students in Nutrient Management (AGRN 6020), Spring 2007

1.    The term paper will be cover a topic on nutrient management, and be approved by the instructor.

2.    The term paper is to be five pages (typed, double spaced, 1 inch margins, times new roman font, full justified, numbered pages), not counting the title page, any diagrams, tables, graphs,  footnotes or bibliography.

3.    The textbook for this course and encyclopedias are not acceptable sources for your term paper.  You may use books and appropriate scientific journals, web pages, newspapers, or magazines.

4.    Include a Bibliography.  Do not plagiarize; cite materials and ideas not your own. Plagiarism is a form of cheating.

5.    Spell words correctly, use complete sentences, and make sure that each paragraph includes a topic sentence.  Poor spelling and grammar will lower your grade.

Outline Format:

I. Title Page (Your Name and Title of Paper)
II. Introduction
    A. Subject you are discussing
    B.  General overview of the issue
III. Discussion
    A. Description and evidence supporting known facts
    B. Analysis of facts and concepts, and implications of problem
    C. Potential solutions to problems
IV. Conclusion
    A. Summary
    B. Final overall concluding statement(s)
V. Bibliography


A topic must be chosen by 16 January 2007. The term paper is due 12 April 2006 at the end of class. The grade for the paper will be reduced 10% for each day late, i.e., if you turn the paper in on 13 April, the highest grade you can make is a 90, etc., etc.

Each graduate student will give a 10-minute power-point presentation of their term paper sometime during 17-26 April 2006.
