| Gourd Creations by Brenda Wood |
It all started several years back when my husband Wes planted gourds in our garden in Beulah, Alabama. We had many gourds that year and really didn't know what to do with them. I kept telling my husband that I would paint them but never got around to it. Once I started painting, however, I was hooked. I have been painting gourds since 1998. Painting gourds is my first artistic attempt. With 2 degrees in Agriculture it seems only right that my art canvas would be an agricultural product. Each gourd is unique and is painted or wood-burned with its own special design. These are just a few of the gourds I have painted, many of which are now in private collections in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil and the Repulic of the Congo. I can also custom design a gourd to suit your tastes.
