Sandra Forsythe, Ph.D.
Wrangler Professor, Department of Consumer Affairs
BIOGRAPHY Dr. Forsythe has conducted consumer behavior and market research for 20 years. She has published over 70 articles in top academic journals including Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, conference proceedings, and trade publications such as Bobbin. She serves as a reviewer for funding agencies including the National Science Foundation, and as an industry consultant, primarily on brand and trademark infringement issues. Dr. Forsythe is internationally recognized for her research, having presented her work at international conferences in the U.S., Europe, Central and South America and East Asia. She has received many awards for her research including the Academy of Marketing Science 2005 Outstanding Conference Paper Award, the AMS 2005 Outstanding Retailing Paper Award, and the 2002 Best Research Paper Award from the Journal of Consumer Marketing. She was Editor of the Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, the leading academic journal in the apparel discipline, from 1996 - 2000 and currently serves as President of the American Collegiate Retailing Association. Dr. Forsythe has received numerous competitive research awards (totaling well over $1 million) from academic and industry sources to conduct consumer research. Her research interests include consumer behavior, focusing on Internet retailing, commercial website usability and brand image and purchase behavior.
